On March 19, 2026, the Loxahatchee River District (LRD) Governing Board approved an update to the residential sewer billing structure. Beginning October 1, 2026, residential sewer charges will be based on the actual number of toilets in each home, rather than the previous “4 or more toilets” category. In addition, residential properties receiving more than one sewer bill per parcel will receive a single consolidated bill.

This change improves fairness and consistency among all customers.

LRD operates a highly reliable, award-winning sewer utility and has among the very lowest sewer rates of any similarly-sized treatment plant in Florida.
