What's New
2015 Night on the Loxahatchee: River Rhapsody
In the waning light of day on July 10, 1860, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse flashed its guiding beacon out across the seas for the first time. The completion of the lighthouse not only signaled a new era of safe navigation, but also served as a central point for a wide variety of communication technologies that helped turn the region from a sparsely populated “end of the line” settlement into a vibrant community living off the bounty of resources along the Loxahatchee River and Atlantic coast. It is only fitting then that this period of growth during the late 19th Century will be showcased at this year’s highly anticipated Night on the Loxahatchee fundraiser to benefit the River Center.
